The Gift of BeingKind

Letters of Kindness

One way you can touch the hearts of others through a kind act is to send a letter, expressing comfort, support, love or gratitude to someone in need.

Letter writing is a dying art.  Many of us are now sending so many emails, SMS texts, tweets and messages via Facebook or Skype each day that the thought of sitting down and writing a more formal letter is too long-winded or tedious.  It may even be a forgotten or never-used skill.

So here we present a number of "instant" letters, written especially to comfort, offer support, uplift and inspire others.

We suggest sending one of these letters anonymously, to a friend or acquaintance, or even to a stranger.  However, you may feel more comfortable signing the letter you send, and that's fine too.

The letters are offered both in pdf format, for viewing and printing from Acrobat Reader, or as an MS Word file for those of you who prefer to edit the letter before you send it.  Note that if you download the Word file, depending on whether you have the appropriate font installed on your computer, the appearance may change.  Feel free to select whichever font provides the effect you prefer.
